April – Pillowcase Workshop

At our upcoming meeting on April 17, at 11 am, Uhuru's own Jackie Stafford will present a workshop/demo on making pillowcases. These cute pillowcases will enhance any decor, make wonderful personalized gifts, and provide an opportunity to actually use some of those cute novelty prints that look so enticing in the quilt store!

Supply list - Three fabrics of your choice:
3/4 yard for the body
1/3 yard accent/novelty fabric for the cuff
2-inch strip for trim

If you want to be hands-on, bring your sewing machine, rulers, extra needles, thread, scissors, power cord, etc.

May 15 – Trunk Show

Denise “Niecey” Lassiter-Vachon, formerly of Main Street Quilts, will present a trunk show. Niecey has been sewing on a regular basis since 1990 and quilting since 1995. She started out making quilts for gifts, then one day decided to combine her love of quilting with garment making. She has had garments on display for the Mancuso’s quilt show in Williamsburg & Hampton, and on travel for the Hoffman challenge; she's also had her garments and quilts published in one of Cheryl Phillips’ books.
